Sabbatical leave…continues

Once it was suggested we wear makeup to avoid looking washed out on stage. lol. I choose not to wear make up because this is how i look, why change it so other people think i look nicer, to me it feels akin to lying.

Everything on stage is so well presented, and everyone on it. To me it screams we’re big. We’re loud. We’re shiny. We’re perfect. We have money. I’m not into that.
That’s why sometimes i sit during the songs, gasp, because when i look up there it brings out my cynical and jaded side, it makes me think all they care about is the performance. Which i don’t like thinking cuz i know it’s not all true, and it also distracts me from worship. Even though i know it’s not the heart of the people there, it’s still the visual impression i get, and i feel like surely we can do things differently.

What does it say about the focus of the church? Is this what jesus intended for church?
