Mannequin continued..

My obession continues. I will not give up!
Here are some recent attempts of me trying to bring true my manneqiun dream.

Fail #1 – A friend wraps me in gaffer.
All well and good in theory but loses it shape promptly after cutting it off.
Stuffing it with newspaper/pillow insides was okay but i have to say…
do i really look like that?!
Flat-chested with a tummy was not how i pictured my mannequin!
Perhaps we needed to put more layers on?

Fail #2 – Strips of paper mache! On gladwrap, and then on me.

That could be anything really.

  1. Masking tape makes a good papier mache without any messy glue, and it keeps the shape much better than gaffer. The completed structure could be hardened in sections using clear varnish and then pieced together. I have used this process to make masks of whole heads in three sections in the past – though rarely whole bodies!
