Day 5

The next day we went to california world!

Spotted cinderella.

View from the ferris wheel. And you can see the first rollercoaster that bec and i had ever been on.

Rach with bec looking rather scared

Monsters Inc. tour that was one of my favourites, it was full of quirky stuff.

One of my favourite parts was a bugs land.

We saw a short version of aladdin on stage which was def. a highlight. Gorgeous singing and they had a flying carpet! Another ride was this 4D simulator, the fourth dimension being smell, that was also incredible. I’m kind of running out of positive adjectives for all the goodness we found there!

Overall i was struck by how perfect it all was. The streets were pristine, the people cleaning were wearing perfect white uniforms, and smiles. The detail was incredible – there wasn’t an inch of the displays/rides/ground/props/costumes that was forgotton, every bit was intentional, designed and perfect. I guess that’s a fairytale, that’s what Walt wanted.
I also have funny little memories of rach searching out the rare places you could smoke. They were always like hidden behind a little shed or in some cramped dark corner lol
